Now everyone knows that there are traditions that we go through at Christmas and for many people watching the right films is one of them. So I thought I would indulge you all in my Christmas film selection which if I don’t watch, it just doesn’t feel like Christmas.
So in no particular order,
Number 1: Love Actually
Love Actually, what a classic! I don’t know many people who don’t love this film or at least fin it mildly amusing. I just love the cast! They are all brilliant and even though there are sad moments in the film and for some people things don’t work out it is still such a feel good movie which is good to watch when you’re curled up on the sofa with a glass of wine (in a very Bridget Jones-esque way in my case)
“I feel it in my fingers, I feel it in my toes, If you really love Christmas, Come on and let it Snow”
Number 2: The Nightmare Before Christmas
One of Tim Burtons many amazing films (I am a massive Tim Burton Fan). I have actually watched this film about 4 times in the past 2 weeks because I love it that much, I even made my little brother sit and watch it with me, he is only 6 so he lost interest pretty quickly but I’m pretty sure he enjoyed the bits he watched… If he didn’t I might have to disown him. Joking, joking… maybe.
“What’s this? what’s this, there’s colour everywhere. What’s this? There’s white things in the air. What’s this? I can’t believe my eyes I must be dreaming wake up Jack this isn’t fair. What’s this?”
Number 3: Elf
I’m not gunna lie, it’s not a brilliant movie in general but I love it because it’s just so silly but brilliant at the same time. It is obviously more of a children’s film but if you do need a way to get into the Christmas spirit this film is probably the best way to do it. Its a happy and stupidly hilarious film, if you’re in a bad mood over christmas it will cheer you up
Promise.
Number 4: The Grinch
And who can forget Jim Carrey covered in green fur trying to steal Christmas from Whoville? This one is possibly my favourite, maybe because it’s the one I’ve been watching for the longest. I personally love Jim Carrey and I think he is brilliant in this as the scrooge type character created my the magnificent Dr. Seuss, probably another reason it’s my favourite, you can’t go wrong with Dr. Seuss!
Number 5: Gremlins
I ALMOST FORGOT! how could I forget the gremlins? How?! I haven’t watched it yet but it will get watched now i’ve remembered, and i will probably watch it tonight. It may not be your average feel good christmas movie but it is still amazing all the same. And let’s be honest who wouldn’t want gizmo for christmas?
HOW FREAKING CUTE IS THAT?! awwww. Someone buy me one? Please… as a christmas present. I promise not to get him wet or feed him after midnight!
