Indeed, after promising to write shiny new posts a few times a week I have failed miserably and have spent the past 3 months barely glancing at my site stats, which are painfully low I might add. Although that would be my fault for failing to update my blog.
Well, new things happening, I have dropped out of school. It really does sound bad when I say it, but it is not as terrible as it sounds, I will be re-doing the year come september but due to current circumstances I am unable to finish this one. I have no intention of throwing my education away. Extra holiday for me! Honestly not as great as it sounds, during the week I get rather bored, I will have to find something to do, maybe do some artwork? Maybe I could actually think about that novel that I am always claiming I want to write, but never actually get around to it. Anything is better than sitting around twiddling my thumbs.
Also I should probably get around to applying to a different school, one closer to home so that I don’t have to travel 2 hours a day, because lets be honest, if you have just been in a car or on a train for an hour after school, when you get back the motivation to do work is not exactly high, more like, screw that I want to relax! I am also hoping that I can change the subjects that I took, it turns out that english literature and history arent my strong points, dont get me wrong, I find history really very interesting and I enjoy the poetry side of things in english, but when it comes to exams and timed essays I just fail miserably and when english lessons ruin a book by picking it apart bit by bit it takes the fun out of reading a book at all. I will keep art and french, which are probably my strongest subjects, and change english and history to maths and chemistry. Yes, I do realise that it is a drastic change, I have been informed of this many a time. However, as sad as this may sound I really do miss maths, I always enjoyed the lessons and chemistry was always my strongest science. I think what makes the subjects more appealing to me is that fact that the work is not based on how well you can phrase what your saying and its not about sounding academic, it is more a case of learning formulas and applying them to different situations. Although they are apparently much harder, I guess I will just have to work harder, which, to be fair, I havent really done this year.
Hopefully with all this spare time on my hands I might actually be able to write some more posts… you never know.
